REVIEW NOV 19

Belfast promoters Moving on Music are daring enough to pair leftfield international acts with cutting-edge Irish bands, and tonight’s bill is inspired.

Mike Watt + The Missing Men

On Sunday 16 we had the unadulterated pleasure of opening for Mr Mike Watt. Both Watt and his band were three of the nicest people we’ve ever had thepleasure to meet. Incredibly nice and extremely enthusiastic and genuine.

I am still, 3 days later, buzzing from meeting and playing with such incredible folk. Those are the situations I am in a band for.

The Across The Line review of the show can be found here.

And I would totally recommend reading Mike Watt’s Tour Diary and not just because he says very nice things about us.

Amazing night, amazing band, amazing people. I love everyone, and everythings great.

Review - August 23

“The Continuous Battle Of Order are, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most captivating, musically endowed two-pieces around…”

August 23 2011. Auntie Annies, Belfast. 9pm.
We play with our friends from Derby, Alright The Captain (Field Records), who are on tour around Ireland. A tour we were meant to doing also untill ‘the man’ got in the way. It appears you can stop the rock, well hinder its path anyways.

August 17 Review

Management: So guys, I hope you have a fantastic local band lined up as support for Shonen Knife. What are they called again?

Promoter: The Continuous Battle of Order.

M: Oh. That’s a rather dark name for a pop-punk band.

P: Pop…punk?

About:

Guitar & Drums/Drums & Guitar

Six hands are good, but four hands are better.

Evolving after the trio We Are Knives dissolved in 2008, guitarist Hornby and drummer Craig Kearney fought their corner and came up with the Continuous Battle of Order, one of the most inventive duos Ireland has seen in decades.

The pair spent 2009 performing, rehearsing and refining a sound that matches an avalance of jazzy drums with loopy fingertapped guitar patterns in a thrilling, ever-changing explosion of sound.

Debut album 'Pattern Seekers', recorded by Dave McCullough in Belfast and mastered by James Plotkin in New Jersey, captures the ferocity of the live show that wowed audiences in 2010.

Not a band to sit on ceremony, they are completing work on the follow-up.
